Infant Care
Giving Tree is unique in the area of infant care. We separate infant ages into three developmentally appropriate classrooms. Each of these individualized classrooms allows for the maximum safety of your child as well as allowing staff to be able to focus on three very different stages of infant development.
Baby Bears 6 Weeks – 12 Months
Our youngest of the infant rooms focuses on providing loving, warm and responsive care in an enriching and safe environment for your child. We ensure each child receives a true sense of security from their care giver. Throughout the day your child will be held, rocked, read to, spoken to and enjoy listening to stimulating music. Teachers will engage your child in developmentally appropriate activities to encourage growth such as; tummy time, texture exposure and mirror play.
Between the ages of 9 and 11 months your child becomes a master of crawling and an emerging walker. By 12 months, children are so proud of their new found skills; self-feeding, using a sippy cup, developing verbal skills and new physical skills.
Your child follows his/her home feeding and sleeping schedule and our caregivers will work closely with you to monitor development and your growing infant's ever changing schedule.
Lil' Bears 12 – 18 Months
Teachers will encourage your child's development with music, movement, communication, sign language, literacy and art activities that are designed to help continue to develop these new found skills.
We value your child's nutritional needs and work hard to develop a healthy and nutritionally sound menu that is age appropriate for this stage of development. Our teachers will work closely with you to determine the best eating plan for your child. Should your child have any special dietary needs or allergies we are more than happy to make accommodations for them.
Honey Bears 18 – 24 Months
At this stage of development the focus of our Honey Bears room is language development and self exploration. Teachers design the day's routine with activities that will encourage your child to verbally express their thoughts, feelings and ideas while exploring the world around them. Your child's daily activities will include; story time, singing and interacting with their environment through self-directed play in various themed centers, teacher directed activities, outdoor play, art time, music & meriment and dance.
